WMV isn't like AVI, John. The file extension pretty much defines the codec in this case.
If you're converting originals Henrik, you'd be better off to convert to DV AVI Type 2, which is what Premiere works best with.
Unfortunately I don't control the originals. All I have is the converted files as wmv...
Then you may have a problem.
I'd do a conversion of the WMV's to DV-AVI Type II outside of PP. Import the converted files and you *should* be able to edit them. Quality will likely have taken a hit, but as you do not have the original files, that is the best you can do.
Always request that your client, or whomever, furnishes you with a DV-AVI Type II in the future.
Or, if the client cannot give you DV-AVI Type II files from their Mac,
they should be able to give you QT .Mov files using the Animation
preset. If an Alpha channel needs to be preserved, they would choose the
Millions of Colors + setting with the '+' being the Alpha.
