The message refers to your project created with the Matrox Presets.
From Memory I dont think that Matrox created drivers for CS3.
Many of us had dumped the cursed thing prior (while using CS2).
So removing Matrox tools is the probable fix? I have to keep the drivers as I'll still be using the Matrox graphics card.
No, Matrox projects do not import into non-Matrox projects.
So no way to import the timeline (rendered or not) - so the entire PP2 project is useless outside PP2?
Seems like there should be a solution.
Only solution is to remake the project without Matrox.
Why do you need the old project in CS3 if you have it working in PP2?
I wanted to modify the original project that was taken a year ago and move all new work into CS3. I knew there would be no backward compatibility but foolish me, I thought I could import PP2 into CS3.
After all, Matrox and Adobe are supposed to have some compatibility. It doesn't make sense that I have to keep PP2 and Matrox alive just to be able to edit older projects.
I still don't understand why the time line is completely blank. I can understand the need to re-render or add a codec but to require the complete rebuilding of the time line simply is an unworkable solution.
It is just one of the side benefits of Matrox projects. Not only does it cost you the expense of the Matrox card, it also gives you incompatabilities and grief. Aside from that it is better to finish a project in the version you started with.
>I thought I could import PP2 into CS3.
You can easily....unless it has a Matrox component. Fact is Matrox did not make a Driver for CS3 so they left you in the "hole".
Modify your project where you started it. Whats the problem?
dlamar, You didn't get the answer you wanted, but I'll compliment you on putting all the information needed to answer this in the original post.
I know nothing from personal experience about matrox. Curiosity: what happens in PP2 if you import your matrox project into a non-matrox project?
Good question.... I loaded a new non-Matrox project into PP2 and then imported the Matrox rendered project (confirmed working prior to import). It does import but a large number of the files show the red "offline" frame in the timeline.
