Main Concept 1.2 , 1.3 MPEG Encoder for Premiere 6.5

I still have 6.5 with that mpg encoder Michael, but I'm not sure where to find the encoder. I looked through Adobe Premiere's folder contents pretty well and didn't see it there, and I don't see anything else under "Programs" where it might be. Any ideas?

I thought Main Concept was the name of the mpg encoder that came standard with 6.5? At least it calls it that in the help file. I never use it since I have TMPGEnc, but it's almost as good whatever it is.

Oh, okay. Yeah, I just looked at the informational tab for the encoder and it says it's 1.1.

It's been so long ago that I can't be sure, but I remember getting an upgrade patch for... Premiere I guess it was, and this gave several more presets for the mpg encoder that were supposed to be faster. Does that ring a bell? But it's still 1.1 so I guess I can't help you if you need a newer one.

I also just looked at their website and the money their asking for this product is insane. TMPGEnc is only $37 and there simply is no better mpg encoder. Plus they sell a stereo AC3 encoder for not much more. I mean it's not surround sound, but at least it's AC3 at hundreds of dollars less than SoundForge. So if you can't find the MainConcept encoder from anybody, do download the trial version of TMPGEnc and try it out. It really is as good as every one says.

I have the Adobe Media Encoder for PPro 1.5 Update. There were actually 2 of them, v1.1 and v1.3. I think you need to install v1.1 before you install v1.3.

Hmmm...Now I'm confused...I have everything from Premiere 6.0 up to and including PPro 1.5, so I should have it somewhere...I'll look around...
