Color correction possible if shot in NIGHT SHOT mode?

    Level 1
A customer sent us a tape of her wedding, shot by an amateur who kept going back and forth between regular and NIGHT SHOT - Sony DCR-HC21. She swears he was hitting BACK LIGHT - but that is a button and not a switch and I clearly hear and see the slight jerking motion of throwing a switch (of which NIGHT SHOT is) ZPlus, I have never seen the BACK LIGHT on a Sony Handycam do this to the video - it just blows out the background I think. I can see it go from black tuxedos to powder blue in the wink of an eye. I have some pics up at photobucket showing before and after. LINK - http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/ee103/goaggr/

I told her that there is not much I can do, but I thought I'd post it to see if anyone has ANY direction on making this look better for her. I am just editing out some of the jerkiest stuff for her and adding a few transitions anyway, so it is a very small project for me.

Anyone had any experience making this look better?
