    General AVI Quality Question

      Hello out there-

I've gone through several experiments to see if I could get the pristine quality that I'm looking for, and I just can't seem to get it. Here's a good example: I take a small clip from a captured .AVI straight from my camera, and when I open it with a media player it looks the exact same if not better than it did on my camera. I take the clip and place it in the timeline, export it as an .AVI again, and when I look at the clip it has become muddy looking; the coloring is limited so the clip looks posterized, and the shot is also somewhat grainy. I've flipped through a good percent of my settings, and nothing I've tried improves the quality enough to make it look the way it did on the original source. Any suggestions?
