No. You also need a keyboard, a mouse and other components, like several disks.
Yes indeed got all that its the processor front bus speed that I am concerned about. The system has 4gb of Ram, 500gb HD, prem pro cs3, XP Pro service pack 2. any real su advice is welcome although I appreciate the wit Harm, Thank you
It looks from the info you supplied, you only have one disk. You need at least two but preferably three. From a CPU point of view it will be taxing the system, but it could be done. Just don't expect stellar performance.
The disk I have is external hooked up with USB which I know is slow but solely for the purpose of video the system runs on a separate disk
Even a Firewire hard disk is not recommended for video work. With your less then the minimum requirement of 3.4 GHz for processor speed the performance will feel like glue for HD editing.
Of course you can use the tryout to judge for yourself.
Harm may have mentioned a few items needed to edit HD but he forgot about the most important thing! You also need to know HOW to edit!
But back to your question Mark - What 'HD' are you talking about? Real HD or pretend HD as in HDV?

Real? Pretend? Isn't that jargon a bit too technical for this forum?
