Follow up - I want to choose HDV since my camcorder is 1080i. There are no presets under HDV.
Are you using the trial version? All mpeg features, including HDV, are disabled in the trial.
Thanks for replying.
Yes I am a complete novice and I want to try the software out.
If I can't select an HDV format, I can't trial the software.
Capture your HDV footage as DV (if your camera has that feature) and then give PPro a test drive using the DV footage.
Lack of HDV support doesn't limit testing of PPro's capabilities. The only limit is that you can't see how well native HDV performs on your particular system.
Adobe offers a 30-day return policy because of that. Check it out before buying.
Welcome to CS3.
Before you post any further questions, please take a look at the video tutorials in Adobe's video workshop. I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to save you from having to ask many basic questions that can be answered by watching the video tutorials.
It is a great resource and can get you up and running. Just select Premiere Pro CS3 from the products window, then select the topic "Getting Started" and finally the title. Start by selecting "setting up a project" under the titles window.
Its like having your own in-house instructor.
However, as Jeff said, the trial version will not have certain features enabled.
