I'm not sure if this is a Premiere Pro or an After Effects issue (possibly just an all around CS4 production premium issue). Often when I am editing in Premiere Pro I'll need to send a clip to After Effects (for chromakeying or whatnot). The method I use is to right-click on the specific clip in the sequence and select "Replace with After Effects Composition". After Effects opens and name the AE project. Right after I do that, both AE and PP stop responding. They just freeze up. The Premiere Pro screen is locked on a "saving project" screen.
I am using MXF footage from a P2 card. Is this a bug in the software or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
