More details please or try with internals only. USB is OK for backups, not for editing.
Well, I try to drag a clip into the source monitor and play from there to select in/outs, takes forever to load in the monitor (was the case with CS3 as well though) and after a while, will finally show a frame.
If i hit play, Audio plays for like 5 secs, Video does not follow, just stays on that frame. Then, the audio will crash and system freezes for a sec. I can scrub through the footage either, the screen will just become white.
Dragging the clip to the timeline and trying to edit from there gets the same results. (The same clips in the CS3 version of the project works fine and plays back in real time)
I edited with the same external drives during my run with CS3 and everything worked fine, So im pretty sure its not a USB thing.
My system specs are fine, drivers up to date, I simply dont know why CS4 is acting so bad. Is anyone else having this problem when using external drives? Any ideas to help this would be great.
I have the same problem with PP CS4. While scrubbing in the timeline the whole system freezes about every 20-30 seconds for about 5 secs. Then it goes back to normal. Sometimes the right monitor turns white during the "freezing time."
I never had that problem with any PP, they all did run fine until now.
