    CS4 & Canon HG-10

I'm an experienced Premiere user. I am getting ready to help someone load clips from a Canon HG-10 camera (card vs. firewire) into Premiere CS4 and wanted to know if anyone has had success taking the clips right off the card and bringing them into the project without the Canon software. I've reviewed some tutorials using the AVCHD and it looks like it should work fine. Thank you for any insight.

I would say that you should use the canon imagemixer to stich files over 2 GB together. If you don't you might get small pops where the files go together.

I would not recommend to edit native AVCHD in general. I would convert to something else. I know that cineform is releasing a version of their Neo very soon that should be compatible with CS4.
