Each sequence in CS4 can have a different setting.
Sometimes its easier/quicker to just Duplcate a sequence and change the assets.
to craig - well, with your way, that would take a long time, i have 674 avchd files. That will mean i will have to create 674 individual sequences. so i thought if i could select all my avchd footage, and drag it somewhere where it could automatically create a new sequences for each of the footages, just like after effects would.
Its not my way. Its the way Premiere creates new sequences
Why are you deinterlacing it?
(674 Comps in AEFX is just as tedious and time consuming I would imagine)
>which would mean that each sequence contains the video file will be deinterlaced and converted from 60i to 24p
Ooooh. You don't want to use Pr to do that!
I have a 2-part tutorial on Dan Isaac's dv2film function for AviSynth. It's geared toward DV 60i --> DV 24p, but it will work on any 60i source. And it uses batch processing, which will be even faster than 674 comps in AE.
There are some changes that need to be made to the batch script in the tutorial, and one additional tool that needs to be downloaded and used. If you're interested, let me know and I'll post the links to the tutorials, as well as the extra steps that need to be taken.
to craig: well, about why i'm deinterlacing it, i probably discussed that and found a solution around about how to successfully deinterlace form 60i to 24p here: help convert 60i to 24p from hdrsr12 in cs4
i had not idea i shot 674 avchd footages while i was at disneyworld, universal studios, and seaworld, and it took up to 66GB of space. i guess the problem is that i wasnt having an easy enough experience with the manual focus on the sony hdr-sr12.
So i guess my only solution would be to create and duplicate sequences and then manually adding a footage to each one?
if only after effects could handle more than stereo sound....
I deleted my post when I read the link you posted and found out you were on a Mac. The info was irrelevant at that point.
May I suggest that you edit your post #5 and delete the reference to me, to avoid confusion for folks who come upon this topic later on?
If you like, I can delete that reference for you.
