What medium allows 16 tracks? Not BR, DVD, HDV, DV, or other common NLE outputs.
Quicktime, Various tape decks, SDI and HD-SDI (embedded) - I work in scenarios where we have 5.1 on 1-6, stereo on 7&8 then various splits on 9-16.
Oh and PPro has a 16 track output option, I guess they think folks are going to use it for something...
(I'm not using CS4 yet, but I do a ton of audio work.)
I don't understand the question I guess. Can't you turn down the volume on the clip output and still keep it up on the submix? If you couldn't then submixing becomes pointless.
You might try routing through a send instead.
OK, finger trouble... didn't realise the 'track output assignment' at the bottom of the mix window - I was only using Sends.
Works nicely using the 16 channel output now. Thanks.
Well I mentioned the sends because I figured they could probably be configured as either pre or post fader which would solve the problem, but like I said, I don't have CS4 yet, so I'm not sure how the audio mixer works exactly.
Glad it worked out for you eventually.
