I can single click to rename....didn't do anything special that I remember.
I also mapped F2 to the rename function as well (standard system shortcut on Windows).
My point is i don't want to single click rename....I just want to be able to click on the text and re-arrange/move the object rather then renaming it. Seems like they tried to make it like windows xcept in windows u have to hover over the text for a second after clicking, over here its assuming u want to rename it from the onset.
If you single-click and hold down the mouse button on the name of a currently unselected clip, you can drag it around in the bin window or to the source monitor or timeline. If you try this on a selected clip, it will go into "rename" mode.
Hope that helps...
ahh many thanks, exactly what i was looking for!
Got it...I was confused because you said "Anyway to revert this back to the way it was in cs3 where if u single clicked on the name of an object in the project window it would auto-assume u want to rename it" which states that you WANT a single click to initiate renaming a file.
At any rate...totally agree. I have my shortcut, it's good enough for me. It's a minor hassle when it highlights the text when I'm trying to drag a clip into the timeline.
