Odd. It works ok for me.
Perhaps you are bouncing the Enter key? (hitting it twice)
After setting your Preferences to what you want (I agree about the Play After Rendering), Exit Premiere and re-launch it. See if tha changes anything.
Thanks for the answers. I have found the answer on my own. I have checked the option "Render audio when rendering video". With that option, after rendering, the video played everytime and unchecking it now it's all back to normal.
That last post bodes ill. I like that video and audio renders can now be "separated", but it sounds like video takes priority. Personally, I find myself needed audio only renders much more often than a video only render.
