It's generally recommended to keep CS3 around in case you need to edit an older CS3 project that CS4 has problems with.
CS3 does not need to be installed on the computer that you are installing CS4 on. Activation takes care of licensing issues.

It was my understanding Eddie that since I bought a CS4 UPGRADE I would need to have CS3 already installed........is that not true when installing on a new computer? Am I misinformed?
Yes it does Eddie.........that would avoid having to install CS3 first?
Actually, the only serial number that was requested during upgrade to CS4 was the CS4 serial number.
It may ask for the CS3 Sn when you launch it.
