Timecode with date and time from media source

We recently bought a canon HG21 HDD digital videocamera which we use to monitor experiments on a plasma reactor. It's very important for us to have the timecode with date and time (from the current recording) visible/ 'burnt in' when we burn the film to DVD's after each experiment. It was not possible to do this with the camera software, so I tried adobe premiere cs4 instead.

It seems that I have problems in capturing the time code from the media source (it allways starts from 00:00:00:00 in premiere, even though the settings under edit->pref.->media-> timecode is set to 'use media source'). Does anyone know how to do this?

Allso, the date. I've heard that it is possible to add the date timecode from the media source using some kind of plugin. Does anyone know which plugin I should use?

I would be very grateful for any help:-)
      Thanks in advance
