I use a dvcpro50p project and imported some jpegs in a high resolution. I put them into the timeline and left them at their original size (no scaling). Everything is fine as long as I don't render the clips. On my preview-monitor I can see, that the resolution is lower on the rendered clips. If I delete the rendered datas the resolution of the pictures is good again.
I made some screenshots wich show it pretty good:
What do you think, can this be a result of the aspect ratio (1.333) of DVCProHD 720p?
I found this threat, wich maybe shows the same problem:
ok, I did some more tests. I built a new project in hdv 720p which uses 1200x720px (aspect ratio 1:1). Here the rendered clips look as good as the preview of the timeline.
I think this means: Hi Resolution pictures are shown in their best resolution, even the format of the sequence would stretch it to a bit lower format. In my case the pictures (AR1:1) were used in a AR 1:333 project and were shown in the better 1:1 AR in timeline preview. When they were rendered, the resolution changes to 1:333 wich produces a slightly worse resolution.
This means too, that the better resolution is used if you export to an AR1:1 format like HDV720. So this is no bug - it's a feature!
