I have checked all items below and can't go any further as my knowledge does not give me confidence without detailed instructions.
1- Have no beta software
2- Only one monitor
3- Window, Workspace, edit
4- Scratch disk (same as project with 85.4MB free)
5- Only one hard drive
6- No AME found
7- MS windows users (only one user)
A- Don't understand £GB switch
B- Should I do this any way?
C- Only one CPU
D- Should I go any further?
8- My clip plays well and with sound in windows player
9- Virus checker not on
This is where I cant go further without step by step instructions.

Maybe, if the information requested is above your head, you are better off with a more consumer oriented program like Elements or WMM.
Download and install the freeware program, G-Spot (www.headbands.com/gspot). Launch it and drag your AV file into it. This little program will do two things for you:
1.) tell you all about your AV file and the CODEC's used
2.) tell you if you have the proper CODEC's installed on your machine.
Let us know what G-Spot reports. It is likely that the CODEC's used (Audio and Video) are the problem. Someone can likely suggest how to correct this problem. If it's not a CODEC issue, the other info will likely get you a response that will help.
