Usually means the media is not compatible... your two different blanks... were they from different manufacturers?
Otherwise I would recommend burning to folder and using a 3rd party software (such as NERO or SONIC) to burn to DVD.
I second burning to a folder rather than directly to a disk. This eliminates DVD burn failures based on problems with the burner or its software.
This 10 digit error code is caused due to a bad disc...changing the disc will eliminate the problem...it may be due to a bad brand of disc as well... try Sony media...
Thanks guys for the advice. I tried everything you suggested. I ended up reloading XP and Premiere. Everything works now. Thanks again.
trying to burn a DVD. get encoding Media transcoding error.
the encoding was at 48.02%. what doe this mean and how can I correct this to burn the DVD. I also tried to burn to folder, and I got the same error. I have Nero 7. How can I use that for my movie instead of premier elements? The movie is in elements, how can I get it to Nero?
Please help me if you can.smiles,
Patty, you should start a new thread so that your problem gets full attention. Anyway, try exporting as DV-AVI, File>Export>Movie. Then bring this file into a new project, add DVD markers/menu and burn.
You might want to also look at your Timeline, especially around teh 48.02% area (multiply your Duration by .4802) and see what is happening there. Gaps in the Video Track? MP3 in the Audio Track? Zoom in on the Timeline and have a good long look. Check out every Asset in that general time range and look at a frame level.
Paul is also correct, that a new thread will help. Few people read this far back, unless they are doing a search for a similar problem.
Shouldn't that be 96.04% Bill... it is a two pass burn process.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I base that number on the info that Patty had provided. I did not pick up that she was using a 2-Pass VBR Transcode, and just used the same percentage of completion that she listed. If she's using 2-Pass VBR, how do we know that the first pass has been completed? Even if she is, and it has, wouldn't the percentage of the completion graph, such as it is, show the percentage of THAT pass? I'd like to see the graph/dialog box/progress bar show the frame #, when it hangs. I'd also love for PE (and P-Pro & Encore) to have a "pre-flight" check for all Assets. Encore has a "Check Project," but that is 99% for navigational problems, not Assets.
Please let me know where my math went off.
You do not have a choice when you burn to DVD.. it uses a two pass process... at 50% it has completed the first pass. In PE1 it was a single pass burn, all versions since then have used two pass.
I have a similar problem. Every time I try to burn the DVD --either to a disc or folder --- it give me an 'encoding error' when in reaches 50 %
I also tried exporting the DV AVI file and reubuilding the project---that did not work
I have tried to encode this project about 20 times---each time it has failed, the last few times it has been at 50 %
I am using PE 2.0, a P4, 2 gig of RAM, a new SATA drive and Win XP Pro SP3
Video length is appox 1h45 and has DVD menues
I'd recommend you start your own thread, Justin. It's difficult dealing with two people who may or may not have the same issue at work in the same thread.
Thanks for that clarification. As I neither burn from PE nor PP, I had not encountered that. I appreciate the education.
I see what you're talking about.
I am having the same issue. At the very last moment of the burn I would get the error "Unknown Error: 2130932484". I used up four DVD without any success.
Have your tried out DVD burn troubleshooting workaround, in the FAQs at the top of this forum?
At the very least, it will tell you where the problem is occurring and how to work around it.
