Select the clips you want in the Media/Project panel and then right-click and select Create Slideshow (even though these are video clips and not slides).
The Create Slideshow option screen will give you the option of adding a transition between each clip.
works great. Thanks!
I have a similar question.
I have assembled a slide show from approximately 300 stills. I have used motion extensively ("Ken Burns effect"), therefore haven't applied any transitions until I finished with the project so I could see the beginning and end of each still clearly. I have all the music in place.
All I want to do now is to place a cross-fade video transition between each of the 300 stills. I can't seem to find a way to do that. I've tried selecting the entire project and dragging the transition and a few other techniques I thought might work, but nothing has. Of course, I can drag the transition down manually 299 times...but that would be tedious and error prone if I wasn't zoomed in to make sure the transition landed in the middle of each of the stills.
Is there a way to insert the same transition between multiple stills all at once that have already been placed in the timeline?
Dont think so...
Since PE doesn't offer the Ctrl-d shortcut to place the default Transition at the CTI, like P-Pro does, about the best that you can do is to zoom your Timeline to see it clearly and hit PageDown to move the CTI to the next Clip/Slide. Then you do have to drag the Transition into place, but this makes sure that you are always going to the next Clip.
The Ctrl-d would be a good feature request.
I think there might be a readily available solution to the multi-pic sideshow transactions. Put the desired transition on the first pic. Select the transaction and Copy (Control-C), Zoom out so the entire project is on one screen. Use a rectangular selection to select all pics. Right click on the selected pics and chose paste attributes to selection (or words of that sort.
Try that and report back.
