According to Canon's Web site:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=1620 6 (watch for line break, or try: http://tinyurl.com/2u6yum ) it does.
All mini DV camcorders use firewire or as their also called 1394 net adapter or I-Link.
From what I have read at the Canon Support Site, your camcorder allows you to shoot HDV as well as SD. And, it says there that USB connection is meant for transfer of still images from a Camcorder Memory Card to computer; whereas, Firewire connection is required for video transfer from camcorder to computer.
Since you have the two shooting options, I am beginning to wonder if you are just asking about camcorder ports. Or, are you really asking how to use Premiere Elements 4 to capture your HDV from camcorder to computer/edit/export?
Further, do you have the camcorder now or are you just thinking about purchasing it?
I plan to use Premiere Elements 3 or 4 or 7 to capture SD from the Canon VIXIA HV-30 with HDV reserved as a future option.
I am thinking about purchasing it...
