Premiere Elements 3.0.2 Encoding is Extremely Slow!

I'm currently using Premier Elements v3.0.2 on a Windows Vista (32 bit) OS with SP1 installed.

      Computer Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz
      2GB RAM
      NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS / Driver v7.15.11.7519 (5/16/08)
      Windows Experience Score 4.3

I find that Premier is taking an extrememly long time encoding DVD movies. A movie that is less than 8 minutes long takes almost 7 hours to encode! The moive is a photo slideshow I made with Photoshop v5 that I'm trying to burn to a DVD.

I have followed all of the suggestions on the Adobe website for making Vista run faster - turn off indexing, turn off visual effects including Aero, no other programs running, etc. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to purchase of the new v7 when it comes out but I am apprehensive due to the slow performance of v3.

      Thanks!
      Brian
