You could export it as a DV-AVI.
Then start a new project for the next section, etc.
When all sections are done, import all of the DV-AVIs into your final project and create your menus.
how do I export the section of a movie as a DV-AVI?
How do I separate those sections?
Set your Work Area Bar (on the timeline) over only the segment you want to output. Then, when you select your Share option, check the checkbox that says Output Work Area Bar Only.
I've attached a picture of the Work Area Bar.
I am trying to save just part of the movie, but it says
THERE ARE NO CLIPS TO BUILD
what do I do wrong?
Yes, what Steve says is the correct procedure for exporting and saving part of the movie (the part under the work area bar). Did you place the work area bar correctly.
You want to export to DV-AVI for maximum quality using the Share option or File>Export>Movie.
how do I set borders for work area bar ? it stretches through the lenght of the whole movie, but I only need a part of it.
Just drag the handles at either end of the bar to cover the area you want.
Thank you, guys!
Sorry for all the basic stupid questions -but I am just a beginner!
Now,I saved that part of the movie on my computer,in FLV file, but what player should I upload for that FLV file. Windows media player does not open it.
Successfully copied part of the movie in DV-AVI!
Thanx again everybody! Step by step we all learn!
I use this free FLV player:
Thanx. One more about about work area though...
How do I make only work area visible while editing? I mean, just that work area episode, not the whole movie.
You cant. You would need to split the movie on the timeline and delete the unwanted section.
Otherwise before placing the video on the timeline, while the whole clip is in the Media Bin double click on it and it will come up in the trimmer... here you can set "in" and "out" points and drag the trimmed section to the Media Bin and from there to the timeline. Thus you can put selected regions on the timeline or different tracks.
