This happens sometimes with MPEGs as source files. It's related to certain audio codecs.
Follow-up on my original post. I found out the sound did play on a relatives DVD player. Funny thing is that the Digital Audio cable had pulled out of the back of my DVD player which is why the sound did not play on my TV. The sound still does not play on my computer so it is probablly a codec problem as Steve has mentioned.
