I am using PE 3 at the moment and have a wonderful Sony HDR HC7 camcorder. I have been given a fantastic 40" HD TV (for my 70th birthday) and playing the camera through to the TV is a miracle to me! With the HD TV I was given a Blue Ray disc player free with the TV. The hundreds of hours I have made with PE 3 are now very inferior and I wish to advance my editing. Should I now get the latest PE and a Blue Ray burner and the big question is "will it look as good as direct from the camera? I love using PE3. Is there anyway I can upgrade all my standard discs? I downloaded a HD video to PE3 and edited it before burning it with my Nero but the result was hopeless.
Premiere Elements 7 should give you excellent results with that HDV camcorder, Ros.
But, just to make sure, why not download the free trial and make sure it all works to your satisfaction? You won't be able to burn a BluRay or DVD from the free trial, but at least you'll be able to test drive the program and make sure you like how it handles HDV.
