Steve Grisetti Feb 3, 2009 4:51 PM (in response to davemachews)Are you saying you're putting in AVCHD video and trying to get a standard DV DVD out (rather than a BluRay disc)? -

davemachews Feb 3, 2009 6:29 PM (in response to davemachews)will it not work if PAL Widescreen DVD is used when working with AVCHD files?
grisetti, you always have been helpful. I appreciate if you will give some details how to work with AVCHD files and the correct presets when exporting this video.
Also, does Premier Elements 7 export to DVD as in an interlace format? If so is it possible to get Premier Elements 7 to Export to DV
D as in PAL 576p format instead of PAL 576i. -

Steve Grisetti Feb 3, 2009 6:40 PM (in response to davemachews)You definitely won't be able to work with AVCHD files in a standard DV settings project, Dave.
But, if you're trying to get a standard DVD from an AVCHD file, you may be facing some unique challenges.
I'd recommend you post to our "sister" site at http://muvipix.com/phpBB3//
There are some HDV and AVCHD experts there that may have some recommendations for you. -

5. Re: PREL 7- AVCHD - poor quality using PAL widescreen
(Daniel_Flouch) Feb 5, 2009 6:17 AM (in response to davemachews)Dave,
Certainly using a PAL Widescreen DVD preset would not give you the right result, as the output file will be of lesser resolution. my suggestion would be to make use of MPEG2/H.264 export preset FULL HD.
Will give you decent result, with slight degradation due to change of format, though you migh observe increase in file size, but that's how it works.
Thanks
Daniel.
