Steve Grisetti Mar 21, 2009 6:43 AM (in response to Paul_LS)Hmm. There's a lot to be said for if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it -- but I guess it's a more traditional-looking forum.
Thanks for the tip, Paul! -

Bill Hunt Mar 21, 2009 7:15 AM (in response to Paul_LS)Well, as one who enjoys the way that the "old" forum looked and worked, my jury is still out. I guess that it was similar, when PE4 changed the interface from PE3 (more like my old favorite PrPro). There were only a few "enhancements," that I would have added (note: added, as in keep the old, but add a feature, or two). I'll have to learn it, and may one day fight for it to stay the same, rather than get changed again. For me, little needed to be done to make the "old" forum layout perfect.
We'll see,
Hunt -

John T Smith Mar 21, 2009 7:22 AM (in response to Paul_LS)The reason for the new forum software is here https://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7c637/
The top "Discuss" link there leads to a VERY active discussion area -

Robert J. Johnston Mar 21, 2009 9:08 AM (in response to Paul_LS)I don't like it. Very hard to read on a CRT. -

6. Re: Preview new Forum look....
Ed.Macke Mar 23, 2009 8:57 AM (in response to Paul_LS)Gotta say... I *like* the new forum look! The current forum seems very outdated, particularly for a software company.
How it functions in real life? We'll have to wait and see.
But I don't even use the forum that much and I've had numerous issues... lost posts, login weirdness, message read flags never working quite right... so my (very) humble opinion is that is kind of *is* broke and does need fixing. Maybe we'll even been able to do attachments, HTML formatting, etc.!!
Don't mean to start a war, just saying I think it's a long-overdue improvement - assuming they don't screw the pooch on the implementation, of course. :) -

Robert J. Johnston Mar 23, 2009 7:39 PM (in response to Paul_LS)There's been nothing wrong with this forum until they started working on the other forum. Adobe kind of let things slid on this forum.
