The first thing that I would do is go over the FAQ's at the top of this forum's page. Disregard the version numbers, as most of the info and suggestions are not version-specific.
You will likely find a solution to your problem in there.
Did you load the 3.0.2 patch for Vista?
Have you optimized Vista, per the FAQs at the top of this forum?
Yours is a relatively slow machine, in terms of Vista, so optimizing the operating system is vital.
Also, ensure that you have the latest version of Quicktime and that you've installed all the Windows Updates. (Don't trust the auto setting. Manually go to Windows Update.)
You should also clean and defrag your hard drive, since your system has a relatively small one. (I'm suspecting this is a laptop.)
The FAQs at the top of the forum offer advice on cleaning and maintaining your system so that it runs better than new.

Yes i am running it on a laptop. Would it be better to take install it on my home machine?
