    How to comment

    kimikimish Level 1
      In certain Code i download online or I create using DW template, when i tried to comment on some code the comment does not appear to be coment. For example: the comment script color is oranage or black instead of gray.

      I didnt change the color preferences at all. As a demontration of that, in a normal blank page I still have the grey comment script.

      Any ideas I can comment in any downloaded pages and any templates as I want ?

          Tell us exactly what you are doing when you try to comment a page, please.

          I'd like to be able to reproduce your steps.

            Problem solved.

            In order to comment using "//" or "/**/" or " ' "

            I need to comment the entire code with this " <!----> " first

            Otherwise anything other than html comment will not appear as comment.

              You need to use the proper type of comment for where in the code it is.

              You cannot use a CSS comment outside of style tags.
              You cannot use a php comment outside of a php block.
              and so on.

                I have the same problem but I don't understand that solution. Could someone please elaborate?

                  Simple.

                  Use the correct comment syntax for where the comment is placed in the code.

                  HTML

                  <!-- This is a comment -->

                  CSS or PHP

                  /* This is a comment */

                  PHP

                  //This is a single line comment

                  Classic ASP

                  ' This is a comment
