Ricardo,

Adobe must feel if you use it enough to customize, you should be leaving
Reader running at all times <g, r, & d>.

Mike
I've just installed Adobe Reader 9 on Windows XP, and I'm experiencing exactly the same. It's very frustrating, I think. I love to have direct access to First Page, Last Page, Full Screen, entire page view, two pages view ...
What can be done ?
Mike, were you talking kind of serioulsly ?!! I've tried your tip - u never know - but of course it doesn't work ...
So what ??
I actually just gave up. I am hoping an update will come that will preserve toolbar settings, but nothing so far...
Yes I'm hoping so too ...
I've also tried an installation repair but it didn't change nothing.
And - u never know ! - I've also tried to customize toolbars after agreeing to participate to their improvement program, thinking that maybe this customization "favour" would be from now on only allowed to their "collaborators" but no result ...
Hi guys! I too had this same annoying problem, but have just figured out why it doesn't restore our settings! To fix it, from the main menu bar, click on:
Edit > Preferences
then from the category bar on the righthand side, click:
Now look at the checkboxes to the right, and UN-TICK the setting saying:
'Allow documents to hide the menu bar, toolbars and window controls'.
Then it should remember all your settings every time you re-open the document! It did for me! Hope this helps anyone having the same problem with adobe reader's really anoying default settings! If adobe is reading this, please make the default setting show our menu bars like in the previous versions! People are getting really frustrated with it, and I'm sure many people just gave up and stopped using it! Just a heads up!
I'm using Adobe Reader 7.0.
I've opened one pdf screen from firefox to view a report from a jsp page.
I just dragged and closed all the tool bar buttons.
Now not able to put it again in the place. What can be done?...........
I've tried the method outlined and when I open a new document it still doesn't remember the setting. This is true on my computer with Windows 7 installed. I have another computer with Windows XP installed and it has no problem remembering the tool setting I've set up. Anyone else with a similar problem? Any solutions? Thanks.
