You can print the sticky notes with Adobe Acrobat.
While that is interesting, 99% of our customers are using Reader.... which displays the note, but does not print the note. So.. I'm not sure this information helps me.
In Adobe Acrobat the setting is under Edit->Preferences, then if you choose Commenting you can select Print notes and pop-ups.
There is no such setting in Acrobat Reader.
Yes, Adobe Reader doesn't have this settings in the preferences.
Adobe Reader doesnt have these settings unfortunately
Adobe Acrobat uses the following registry entry:
Does anyone know if the Adobe Reader 9 supports this registry entry ? My apologies if I did not indicate i'm using the latest/greatest version of reader.

Look at the registry.
On the Adobe knowledgebase page for Reader it indicates that you can choose to print comments from within Reader, but this is not true. I am using Reader 8.0 on a Windows computer, and just want to be able to
print the comments on the page from Reader so that I don't have to bug the designer (who has Pro) every time I want to print with comments. Can this be done, or not. And if not WHY NOT!
Print a PDF
If the desired printing option is in the Print dialog box, set it there rather than through the printer driver. The computer you wish to print a PDF from must be connected either to a local, shared, or network printer and be configured to use that printer.
Choose File > Print Setup (Windows), File > Page Setup (Mac OS), or File > Print (UNIX) to choose a paper size, page orientation, and other general printing options. The options vary with different
printers and drivers. See your printer driver documentation for details.
To print comments, such as sticky notes, in the Preferences dialog box, choose Commenting and select Print Notes And Pop-ups.
Note: To open Preferences in Windows, choose Edit > Preferences. In Mac OS, choose Reader > Preferences.
Click the Print button , or choose File > Print.
Choose a printer from the menu at the top of the Print dialog box.
(Mac OS) Choose an option from the Presets pop-up menu.
In Windows or UNIX, click Properties to set any additional options available with the printer driver. In Mac OS, set printer driver options in the Print Center.
To print comments or forms, select an option from the Comments And Forms pop-up menu.
Indicate which pages you want to print, and then click OK.
You can print comments from within Reader.
Thanks Bernd, would you be able to tell me how?
I've been trying everything for two days now, with no luck. I can print highlighted text, strike-through text, and it prints the little insert text marks. But it doesn't print the text you want to insert, and I can't get it to print the yellow sticky note itself, only the marker for it.
This additional step is needed in either Adobe Reader 8 or
Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro (those are the versions I've tried):
File --> Print --> Comments and Forms
(a dropdown menu in upper right under Properties)
set it to Document and Markups
You should now see the markups in the Preview area
of the Print dialog.
Click OK to print.
