hi is your updater exe file
Adobe_Updater.exe or AdobeUpdater.exe
Just update from within Adobe Reader to 8.1.3; this will automatically upgrade the updater as well.
Tbinnie and Pat......Thank you both
Tbinnie and Pat......Just completed the update to 8.1.3...Tested by going to one of the websites with PDF...All went perfectly....No problem with Download / Install and no pop-up suggesting need for "Updater"....Thank you
Codys mom, what does your updater exe file look like?
C;|ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Adobe and open up the updater folder
Is your updater updater 6?
does the exe file show
AdobeUpdater.exe or Adobe_Updater.exe?
As I said earlier in this thread, I updated from within Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (Help | Check for Updates). This would have brought up the correct updater, but I didn't check with Task Manager which one is running.
But I just started Adobe Reader 9, and I saw that it was running Adobe_Updater.exe for a few seconds after the start. So, I think we can lay this subject to a rest.
Tbinnie ......The Updater in C;|ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Adobe is Updater5 and shows----AdobeUpdaterInstallMgr.exe
I've used the reader a couple of times since installing 8.1.3 yesterday.....It works flawlessly....So, I'm inclined to agree with Pat that we can probably lay the subject to rest.....
Thank you both for your follow-up....
sorry pat I emailed this before I found that Adobe_Updater.exe is the correct one. Lets RIP :)
