Jane are you sure that the Reader Rights have been enabled?
Can you provide more info about where that setting is? We have not had to change anything in prior releases, perhaps this is new? Otherwise, we have shared reviews in a public folder which has the proper permissions. Thanks for any and all help.!
I have checked some of the settings, to no avail.
I am wondering, is there anyone who has Reader 9's
Publish button enabled in a Shared Review PDF that was created in Acrobat 8?
From what I am reading, I am seeing a whole new collaboration scheme in Reader 9 (i.e., acrobat.com and Buzzword)... Perhaps it is simply not supported? I am slated to send files out for review this week, and am finding this all a mystery. cheers!
I'm having a similar problem and didn't see a solution posted.
I'm using Acrobat 8 Professional to do shared document reviews. I created a sharepoint shared documents folder which the shared document review process verified and accepted as a destination.
I used the Review and Comment process to save the pdf document to the folder (enabling those using Reader to review and comment) and send an email inviting specific individuals to review and comment.
The problem is when they open the document (using the URL in the email) they don't see the "toolbar" that lets them Publish Comments to Server. They all have Reader 9.
Until I figure out what the problem is, I'm using a brute force technique to force publishing comments, instructing them to close the browser and then Publish Comments using the dialog box that appears after the browser has closed.
Any suggestions how to get the toolbar that lets them look for published comments and publish their comments to display ?
Hi - I'm having the same issue as you mentiond. Users with PDF Reader are unable to Publish comments. Did any one get to make it work?
In doing some research today, I noticed no one had answered this issue.
I believe this was a documented bug in Reader 9, that has been fixed through an update to at least 9.4.0. Another fix is un-installing Reader 9 and a re-installing. You can download older versions of Reader here:
