I don't know if there is a difference between the two? If so, what? Also,
I see I have two versions of Adobe Reader (8) and (8.12....) -

Do I need to uninstall all Reader/Acrobat? files before I download the newest version - what number is the newest version (9?) I thank you for trying to help me, I am obviously a duh.......

In a nutshell, Reader is the application made to view PDF files and Acrobat is the app used to create the PDF files. Reader is free. Acrobat is not.

If you have Acrobat, I'd recommend leaving it on your machine since you can view PDF's with it as well.

If you want to install Reader 9 (the newest) it should give you the option to uninstall older versions of Reader. Or it may just do it. I can't remember if it was a choice.
