Making Adobe Reader 8 the Default Reader on Websites

I realize I have sinned by using Foxit as my default. I now want to make Adobe 8 my default, since the Vanguard, TurboTax, Smith Barney websites require it (it's tax time!). I used Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types to switch default to Adobe, but only individual PDF files were apparently affected by this, ie, when I click on a link at the Vanguard website (eg, for my 1099), the screen opens up in Foxit, not Adobe. I had expected to find a "choose Adobe as my default reader" switch somewhere on the Adobe menu, but can't find one...where is it, please? I use XP/SP2, Firefox and IE.
