No previous version of Reader was on the computer, and I downloaded the latest version from the website. Double-clicking the downloaded installer launches a process (AdbeRdr80_en_US.exe) in the background that does nothing. I apologize if this was addressed in an earlier topic. I appreciate any suggested solutions.
I have had the same experience. When I try to load the product, a download/installation window appears. All seems to be going well up until the moment that the install process should be completing. The window closes and I am left with no Acrobat reader! I am attempting to install the product on a laptop with Vista as the OS with all patches and updates applied. I have no idea what's wrong.
