I just did a deployment of reader 8.1.2 to several thousand machines using SMS. I created a transform file with the new adobe customization wizard. I am have the problem described in KB401258 Error: "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." when you view a PDF in a browser (Acrobat and Adobe Reader 8 on Windows)
The resolution is to create a new transform and redeploy the application. I have two questions. First is there not an easier fix like a registry entry that can be changed? Secondly, if there is not an easier fix and I create a new transform and redeploy using the command line AcroRead.msi transforms=AcroRead.mst will that automatically reinstall the app or do I need to change the command line?
What does deployment mean? Where do you find the .mst file? I can't figure it out. I get the same error message. When I try to open a PDF file it takes a long time and then it gives the error message. But then usually it will still open up the PDF file in a new window or sometimes it won't open at all.
Deployment, in this case, is when someone tries to automatically
install Adobe Reader onto a number of computers, usually in a company.
This avoids having to walk around perhaps thousands of computers.
There are a number of Adobe technical documents about how to prepare
for this, even a special forum.
I don't think your problem is connected, so I recommend you post a new
