How to delete Acrobat Reader .dll's?

I installed a hard drive from an older machine that had a complete Windows XP Pro installation. I finally got around to deleting the obsolete E:\Windows subdirectory by selecting individual subdirectories such as "E:\Windows\Program Files", and pressing [Shift]+[Del]. The only 3 files left are E:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll, pdfshell.dll, and AcroPDF.dll.

No way can I delete them. Getting a message: Access is denied
I tried changing every attribute with no luck. I'd rather not re-format the whole drive but it looks like my only option. Is it?
