I am have the same problem with a WinForms application. I get this error message when embeding 1 PDF document into a WinForm. Is there any solution to this issue?
I believe when u close the WinForm (and the webbroswer), the PDF file still running, we have to somehow close it..
The reason i think this way:
The message pop up when I run the winform, or open a PDF file in Internet exploser, then I close everything, include VS, internet exploser, and all other files. Then I log off of the computer, the adobe reader pops up and said some files are still runing, are you sure you wantto log off?

not sure this is really a Reader issue as opposed to a Microsoft issue.

Adobe said you can only open no more than 1000 PDF files in a boswer. That's why I believe we exceeded the 1000, and hv to find ways to close the files
