Another suggestion: try removing the plug-in.
Thank you for your reply.
Do you have a short description on how to to this?
The plug-in is just a file in Reader's plug_ins folder. The error
message gives you the name (which is unusual, and helpful).
The file is located in the SPPlugins folder and not in the plug_ins folder. Also note that the files in plug_ins has a .api as opposed to my "trouble file" (admplugin.apl).
Deleting the file simply triggers Windows installer to repair Adobe Reader by copying the file to the folder again.
Does anybody know what functionality is provided by the admplugin.apl file? This may help me to debug in some direction.
You're right, sorry I missed that.
I cannot remove Adobe Reader 8.1.1 from add or remove program.MicrosoftXP.
Hey, I having the same problem can you tell where too find this file. Thanks, Elaine
Mara> Please start a new thread regarding your problems with uninstalling Adobe Reader 8.1.1. Thank you.
Elain> The file is located in
\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\SPPlugins
I am having a similar issue with Ver 8.1.2 running over cirtix with a similar setup to Jans-Peter.
The difference is that Reader opens fine but when you try to edit preferences it crashes.
This only happens on an citrix session. If I run reader on the server directly it works OK.
However after reading above I can replicate the problem on the server by moving or deleting the ADMPlugin.apl file.
Any further ideas at all?
I'm also having problems that started today. No users accessing my W2003 internet website can open a .pdf.
