    Opening Reader with Bookmarks showing

Is there a command line option or some other means of ensuring that when I launch a particular PDF file it will always display with its bookmark panel showing at left, rather than just showing the first page of the document?

I have the same question for Adobe Reader XI.

I have a software manual that I'm distributing and I want to set it up so that the bookmark panel is always open on the left. I think I was able to do that with Acrobat, but currently we're just using Word's Save As feature to create the PDF.

Is there a user setting in Adobe Reader XI that will always open documents with the bookmark panel showing by default?
