I am running Internet Explorer 7 and Adobe Reader 8.1.2 on MS XP Pro and I cannot view or download PDF file attachments (email sys is Yahoo Mail). When I click to view/download the file it brings up a download box and the system just hangs there forever downloading but never finishing. I have run the repair feature on Adobe Reader as well as removed the program and re-downloaded it. Nothing helps. If I forward the message to an account on Outlook Express (same computer) I can view/download the pdf with no problems. Any suggestions? I need it to work in the IE Browser - I cannot forward hundreds of messages just to open the pdf files. Thank you in advance for any help.
I have the similar problem. But it is just on Internet Explorer. I have Internet Explorer on Vista, but the problem is reproducing also on XP System. Anyway, the Firefox work well with embedded PDF files.
The work around is to open Adobe Reader, click Edit/Preferences. Click Internet and uncheck the Display PDF in Browser box. This has been a solution for problems in Adobe for years. Either IE will fix the the problem or Adobe will, but for now they have not admitted that there is a problem.
