I had been using Reader 7.0 and attempted to upgrade to Reader 8.0 by downloading the new version from the website.
After the installation completes I get an Adobe Updater panel that says: Some components needed to complete this operation are missing but information about them may be available on the Adobe website. Would you like to search the Adobe website for the missing components".
The link takes me to a FileOpen Plug-in for Acrobat/Reader Installer page #126.96.36.199.852. I click OK to install and receive a page that indicates the installation was successful.
However, when I try to read a document using Reader this entire process starts again and again...
I've the same problem. Not only with 8 but also with the latest release 9.
My system is running Vista Home Premium.
I also find out that some documents are working fine but some give the above mentioned problem.
