Set the initial view in the properties of the document in Adobe Acrobat.
Thank you! It worked! -- Kim Oren
The properties of my PDF file are set to show Bookmarks Panel and Page, but when I opened the PDF the first time, it didn't show the bookmarks. I showed the bookmarks, closed the file, and opened it again, and although the left navigaton pane appeared, it just showed the pages rather than the bookmarks.
The way I'm opening the PDF is from an HTML help system that's generated from FrameMaker source files. In FrameMaker, the link is created via the Hyperlink > Go to URL command. Does it make a difference that the PDF is showing up in a browser window rather than directly in Reader?
Also -- we recently upgraded to Acrobat 8. My colleagues tell me that their releases previously displayed bookmarks, and now they don't, although they created the PDFs using the exact same process. Now I'm wondering if this is an Acrobat 8 bug.
