i getting an error message 1714 so then i try to unstill it but it want let me so what do i do
Hi, I had the same problem and fixed it with the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility. Go to the Microsoft site, search for installer clean up or click this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
That took s few secs to download, but it didn't start up automatically. I had to go to my program files, scroll over to the Windows Installer and click it. You get a list of all the programs on your computer when the Installer box pops up. Highlight the Adobe 8.0 file that won't uninstall and then click remove.
After that, come back to Adobe and install the update. It worked right away after that. Hope it helps!
Thanks, Your suggestion works perfectly.

I continue to not be able to reinstall Acrobat Reader 8.x - repeatedly get install error
