Did the uninstall of 9.0 go normally? From the Control Panel?
I don't think it ever installed properly, and when I went to uninstall it from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, it said it could only remove installed programs. When I tried to install version 8.1.2, it could not find the .msi file to continue the install.
Have you used any registry cleaners, third party uninstallers etc.?
They could have done this damage.
Anyway, I think the best bet is to use the Windows Installer Cleanup
Tool from Microsoft. Mark each product as uninstalled, then reinstall,
and uninstall normally.
I installed and ran the Windows Installer Cleanup Tool to remove Adobe 8.1.2 and it seemed to uninstall whatever was left of this program. I do not receive the error message, so now I can reinstall Adobe Reader. Thank you so much for your help.
if you have acrobat 9 or reader 9 on windows, it will not be able to view a PDF online
all you have to do is save the attachment or the file from the browser onto the desktop and then try opening it
right click on a PDF, select open with and click on choose program
select adobe reader and @ the bottom check always use this program to open this type of file
click on OK
