    Unable to ue Adobe reader as default for pdf files

      I am using Windows Vista. Since updating to Adobe Reader 9 I am unable to apply Adobe as the default program for opening pdf files. Reinstalling multiple times has not solved this, nor reinstalling Reader 8 or earlier. Adobe reader does not appear as an option when in "Recommended Programs" or "Other Programs" when you attempt to open a pdf file using the "Open with" commad. I can browse either my computer or the net to find Adobe Reader but am still unable to make it the default program. The same thing happens when I attempt this through the "Associate a file type or protocol with a program"

      Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
