Every time I try to read a pdf file I get a pop-up window that says I need to buy Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and it won't let me view the pdf. When I tried to download Adobe Reader 9 the download stopped, and the tab just had a gray box that says
Adobe Download Manager powered by getPlus®
and nothing else happens. I am using Windows Vista on a Sony Vaio FZ470E laptop.
Also, I have a textbook that I downloaded that has the chapters in spdf files that I can't figure out how to view either. Trying to view these files is actually what started my computer not being able to view regular pdf files so I probably messed something up there that I can't figure out now.
      Thanks.
