You'll want to run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. That "should" fix it up.
okayyy, what is the "Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility" and how do I get there?
That didn't work. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Did you actually run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it
to remove the traces of the previous version? I ask because some
people have assumed that just downloading it will sort things out.
I have a similar problem with Adobe Reader 9.0, the install goes to 98.9% and quits with a message "the package could not be opened, verify that the package exists or that you can access it, or contact the application vender to see if it is a valid Windows Installer package."
Can someone help me as I need to read some PDF. Documents.
