I would like to have the Select Tool the default rather than the Hand Tool. Whenever I click in the Reader window to put focus in the window, it zooms in, which is really annoying. I have to be careful to click in a non-text portion of the window, or use the task bar to front Reader. Is there any way of making the Select Tool the default, or at least disabling the Hand Tool?
You can do one of the following:
1. Disable the option "Make Hand tool read articles" from Edit > Preferences > General. This will disable the feature that makes clicking on the hand tool result in zoom into the articles
2. Choose a different tool, say Select Tool by going to Tools > Select and Zoom > Select Tool.
Note that the above settings are stored in your preferences (~/.adobe) and are remembered in subsequent uses of Adobe Reader.
